Bring Mom Home: the full story of Bridge Siege
Bridge Siege tells its story in short cards between levels. Here is the whole thing in one place, chapter by chapter. If you haven't finished the game yet, this page spoils everything, including the ending. Play it first if you'd rather find out on the bridge.
Chapter 1: The Ruins
Kai comes home from a supply run and finds his house burning. Mom is gone. A dying neighbour gives him one line: "She's with the General now."
Kai picks up a knife and walks onto the first bridge. The horde is waiting, and behind it the Rotting Brute. On the far side, caught on a railing, he finds Mom's scarf. She came this way.
Chapter 2: First Allies
Across the river, survivors are hiding in the wreckage. Every one who joins Kai is another gun and another chance. Together they push past the Bridge Butcher.
One survivor remembers a convoy heading north. Mom was in the back of a truck.
Chapter 3: The Convoy
The convoy is close, and Kai has to stop it before it reaches the General's fortress. His squad cuts through the Convoy Guard and Kai tears open the truck.
It's empty. The convoy was a trap.
Chapter 4: The Radio
In the wreck of the truck, a radio crackles. It's Mom's voice: "Don't come for me, Kai."
Kai beats the Static Howler and keeps turning the words over. Why would she say that? There's only one answer that makes sense. Someone is forcing her.
Chapter 5: The Hacker
A hacker named Vex is locked in a cage in the middle of the next bridge. Free her, she says, and she can trace the signal from that radio. Kai's squad brings down the Cage Keeper and Vex gets to work.
The signal leads to Iron Bridge, the General's fortress. Mom is there.
Chapter 6: Iron Bridge
The General's champion guards the fortress gate. The Iron Champion is the toughest fight yet, and the squad barely holds.
In the champion's pocket, Kai finds a photo of Mom. She's wearing a lab coat.
Chapter 7: The Lab
The lab is buried under the fortress, and something has been growing down there. After the Lab Abomination falls, the truth comes out.
Mom is a scientist. The General took her to build a cure for the infection, one he plans to sell to whoever can pay.
Chapter 8: Betrayal
Vex leads the squad toward the cells where Mom is held. It's a long, quiet walk, and then the doors seal behind them. Vex's Hound is let loose.
Vex was the General's spy all along. Half the squad doesn't make it out.
Chapter 9: Rock Bottom
Kai is alone again, back at the bottom of the pit with the Pit Brute. Then a message gets through. It's from Mom: a map, drawn in secret.
The map shows the way to the General's tower. She's still fighting too.
Chapter 10: The Tower
The General knows Kai is coming. He floods the tower bridge with the infected, and the Tower Warden holds the door. Kai rebuilds the squad gate by gate and pushes through.
The tower doors open. The General is waiting.
Chapter 11: The General
The General smiles and injects himself with Mom's unfinished serum. What comes at Kai is no longer a man. It takes everything the squad has to stop the General.
He falls. Somewhere above, a door unlocks.
Chapter 12: Mom
One last bridge stands between Kai and Mom, and one last horde: the Last Wall.
Kai finds her. She's safe. She holds him and says, "I finished the cure, Kai. But there are more cities…"
What happens next
When the story ends, the bridges don't. Endless mode keeps the horde coming for as long as you can hold. Season 2 is on the way.
